Benefits a key area for savings, says Craine

Treasury Minister Anne Craine says universal benefits in the Isle of Man must be looked at by the new administration, following next month's general election.

Departmental budgets have been slashed following the huge drops in the Island's share of VAT receipts in the last couple of years.

On Mandate today (Wednesday), Mrs Craine said benefits were a key area where savings could be made (listen to audio file below):

Four people have so far declared in Ramsey, namely Mrs Craine and Allan Bell who are defending their seats, and challengers Leonard Singer and John McDonough.
