'Better independent than a Lib Van', says Malarkey

An MHK has again defended his decision to leave the Liberal Vannin Party, insisting real difference can only be made from working within government.

South Douglas member Bill Malarkey resigned in 2008, two years after being elected on a Lib Van ticket.

He will defend his seat as an independent in next month's general elelction and, on Manx Radio today (Monday), told John Moss he had no regrets over the split (listen to audio file below):

Bill Malarkey is contesting the two seats in South Douglas with fellow sitting member David Cretney and Liberal Vannin candidate Kate Beecroft.
