Manx Telecom to open new shop on Strand Street

by isleofman.com 8th August 2011

MANX Telecom has revealed it will open a new shop on Strand Street in Douglas this autumn.

The shop will be on the site of the former Maley's Chemist shop and will replace Manx Telecom's two existing shops in Victoria Street and Strand Street.

David Smith, director of marketing for Manx Telecom, said: "We can't say too much at the moment but we can promise our customers an amazing retail experience backed by fantastic customer service.

"Not only will we be able to offer all Manx Telecom's products and services under one roof we also intend that the new shop will be an exciting place to visit - somewhere where our customers will be able to see, touch and interact with the best modern technology can offer. We believe that the new store will quickly become one of the Island's top shopping experiences.

"We are also pleased to be able to make what will be a significant investment in Strand Street and hope that our new store will play its part in the revival of the street as a premier shopping destination and a credit to Douglas."

Chris Pycroft, the development manager for the Douglas Development Partnership, said: "This is great news. The new Manx Telecom store will not only breathe new life into a landmark building but will also play a big role in Strand Street's continuing revival. It's a great vote of confidence in the future of Douglas and its retail scene."
