by isleofman.com 8th August 2011

Peter Kennaugh finished fifth in the general classification at the Tour of Poland.

The 22-year-old Team Sky rider was the highest-placed British rider and was only 25 seconds behind the yellow jersey winner Peter Sagan of Liquigas-Cannondale.

After riding consistently well for the majority of the week he came home safely in the bunch at the end of Saturday's seventh and final stage to secure fifth spot.
