THE Institute of Directors Isle of Man Branch will be hosting two seminars over the next couple of months.
The first, on Wednesday, September 28, will see George Bartlett speaking on Making your Board more effective.
George has been a company director for more than 30 years.
For more than a decade, he was also Group Company Secretary of a listed company headquartered in the UK with manufacturing operations in six European countries, serving on the boards of all of its main subsidiary companies.
Since 2002 he has been a self-employed consultant. He is a senior tutor for the Institute of Directors for a number of training courses and he was UK President and International President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in 1997 and 2000 respectively.
The seminar takes place at the International Business School with registration and coffee at 5.30pm for a 6pm start (7.30pm finish).
On Tuesday, October 4 Professor Dean Fathers will speak on Going from Good to Great.
He has a wealth of experience in a range of organisations from blue-chips in the private sector and national government departments/agencies, to medium sized private, entrepreneurial companies.
He is an accomplished director, having held numerous executive and non-executive board positions and also has international experience as an organisational change leader, working in areas as diverse as the automotive industry, construction, distribution, education, media, retail and pharmaceutical/health in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
Dean has worked with the boards of more than 500 organisations across three continents to improve their organisation's long term success and prosperity and has developed more than 3,000 directors through open and in-house director development programmes.
The seminar takes place at the International Business School with registration and coffee at 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
The events cost £15 each for IoD members and £25 for non-members.
