Dog lovers to head north

A group of dog lovers who rescue neglected greyhounds is inviting the public to join them on a sponsored walk this afternoon (Sunday).

It's Team Greyhound's 3rd annual walk at the Ayres to raise funds to help rehome retired racing dogs.

There's a growing population of the animals in the Island thanks to Anne Shannon's 'Homestay' charity, which places unwanted racers in new homes.

The event starts at the Ayres Visitor Centre, Ballaghennie, at noon and is organised by Sally McCullan:
