Malarkey has no Lib Van regrets

by isleofman.com 5th August 2011

An MHK elected to the Keys as a member of Liberal Vannin, who later left the party, says he can achieve much more for the Isle of Man and his constituents as an independent.

Bill Malarkey, who is defending his seat in South Douglas on September 29, says he has no regrets about deserting the Lib Vans.

As a member of the party he wouldn't have been able to accept a government role, which he went on to do.

On Agenda last night (Thursday), Mr Malarkey said he was much happier working within the political system, than criticising it from outside (listen to audio file below):

Mr Malarkey is one of three candidates who have declared in South Douglas, the others being sitting member David Cretney and Liberal Vannin candidate Kate Beecroft.
