THE Fire and Rescue Service had to cut the roof off a vehicle to reach an injured person last night (Wednesday).
Two appliances from Douglas Fire Station and the duty officer attended the two vehicle collision at the bottom of Richmond Hill, Braddan, at 10.10pm.
Station Officer Mark Christian said: "Upon the fire service's arrival a passenger had already been removed from one of the vehicles and was receiving medical attention from ambulance personnel.
"Crews stabilised the second vehicle and then used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle before assisting ambulance personnel to remove the casualty who was trapped by their injuries."
The aerial ladder platform was requested after the incident to assist police with their accident investigation and remained on scene until 2.30am.
A statement by the Fire and Rescue Service said the condition of the casualties is not known at this time.
