Athlete numbers for games still not known

With fewer than 40 days to go to the opening ceremony for the Commonwealth Youth Games, it's still not known how many people will be taking part.

Sixty-nine nations have said they will be sending teams to the event in September, but only seven submitted their details to the organisers in the Isle of Man by the deadline of July 8.

Organising committee chairman Geoff Karran says the situation has improved since then, but not knowing final entries is presenting a major headache:
