New pub planned for capital

by isleofman.com 3rd August 2011

Victoria Street in Douglas could have a new pub, if planners say 'yes' to a current application.

Permission is being sought to convert the former Lloyds Bank building, opposite HSBC, for the purpose.

The man behind the scheme is Robert McAleer, formerly of the Creek Inn in Peel and the Dogs' Home in Douglas, which was demolished to make way for the Marks and Spencer store.

If planners agree, the new pub would be called 'The Vaults'.
