Danish are too strong in cricket final

by isleofman.com 2nd August 2011

The Isle of Man had to settle for silver in the final of the European Under-19 Division Two Championship.

Pre-tournament favourites Denmark lived up to their billing to take the title and win promotion back to Division One.

Denmark reached 141 in 38 overs at King William's College and, despite a spirited effort, the Isle of Man were bowled out for 80.

For the Isle of Man, Alex Stokoe claimed three wickets, Dan Hawke, Seb Aycock and Shaun Kelly two apiece, and Matty Ansell one.
