Workshops for mental health service users and carers

by isleofman.com 23rd July 2011

WORKSHOP sessions for mental health service users and their carers will take place at the iMuseum in Douglas next month.

The Looking After Each Other event takes place on Tuesday, August 30 and has been organised by a committee of members from the Service Users' Network, Manx Carers' Association and Crossroads Caring For Carers.

Organisers say the morning and afternoon sessions will be identical and non judgemental and each half day session will be divided into two parts.

The first talk will be 'Understanding Confidentiality' by Andrew Lang and the second is a talk on 'Stigma and Discrimination' by John Gregory.

The speakers will spend a short time talking about their subject and there will then be the opportunity for people to work in discussion groups.

Session one takes place from 9.30am to noon and session two takes place from 2pm to 4.30pm.

For further details email serviceusersnetwork@manx.net or ring Elaine on 457756.
