YOUNG people who plan to vote for the first time in September's general election are being invited to sessions where they can find out more information and ask questions.
The Vote Right events take place on Saturday, July 30 and Saturday, August 27 at 1.30pm at Cafe Laare in Lord Street, Douglas.
Youth and community worker at the venue Leanne Newbold said: "Vote Right is designed for young people who will vote for the first time in September's House of Keys general election and may not have all the information they need to make informed decisions.
"We will aim to try and answer those questions and encourage young people to exercise their right to vote. The days will be informal - just pop in and head upstairs."
There are also other activities planned for the summer at the cafe which is run by the Department of Education and Children's Youth Service.
On Saturday, August 13, from 1.30pm, there will be live music, a raffle, a table top sale, nail-painting and other activities. The proceeds will go towards the purchase of an ice cream or slushie making machine.
Meanwhile Safer Summer - on a date to be confirmed - will be run in conjunction with the Youth Justice Team and the Genito-urinary Medicine team from Noble's Hospital. It will offer advice to over 16s on how to protect themselves and take responsibility for their health.
The cafe's extended summer opening hours start on Tuesday, July 26. It will be open from 1.30pm to 5.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4pm to 11pm on Fridays and 1pm to 11pm on Saturdays.
