Young people urged to donate blood

by isleofman.com 21st July 2011

Young people in the Island are being urged to donate blood.

The number of donors in the UK has dropped in the past decade, particularly those aged between 17 and 34, and the Island’s blood transfusion service is having a similar problem.

Many surveyed said they were too busy to donate.

Director, Dr John Wardle, says they want to know how to attract young people and make it as hassle-free as possible.

You can give blood if you're between the ages of 17 and 60 and in good health.

It only takes an hour of your time and could save a life. To get involved contact the blood donor's secretary at Noble's on 650637 for more information.
