Public education forum to discuss cloud computing

by isleofman.com 19th July 2011

THE MANX ITC Association (MICTA) has organised a public education forum on cloud computing.

It will take place on Tuesday, July 26 at 6pm for 6.30pm in the Sanderson Suite in the Claremont Hotel, Douglas.

The principal speakers will be senior executives from PDMS, Intelligence, Domicilluum and Pinnacle Accounting.

A spokesman said: "With nearly 40 different definitions of Cloud Computing in current use it can be confusing and difficult to get a handle on what 'The Cloud' offers for your business.

"This educational event by the Manx ICT Association will be a must for many company directors, senior executives and IT managers.

"Experts drawn from some of our top local businesses, who have deployed and use cloud computing in their own businesses and to serve customers, will talk frankly about different types of cloud computing, share their experiences of the advantages and challenges, cut through the hype and provide invaluable insights into what cloud computing really means and what it can be used for.

"With four principal speakers each giving a ten-minute presentation about different aspects of cloud, the evening will be sales-free, sharp and snappy, informative and empowering.

"Following the presentations the panel will take any questions and facilitate audience discussion, giving you an unparalleled opportunity to get balanced, authoritative and hype-free answers about the cloud."

The event costs £6 for MITCA members' employees and £9 for non-members.
