Incident highlights disaster recovery issues

by isleofman.com 18th July 2011

Skanco says recent events in Douglas have shown the importance to businesses of having a backup plan.

An incident in the Athol Street area a week ago saw police close the financial heart of Douglas for the best part of a day, while they carried out investigations.

That prevented some firms getting on with business, but Skanco says its business continuity plans meant Habib European Bank was back up and running within 45 minutes, at its Restart facility.

Technical account manager at Skanco Alan Paradise says disaster recovery doesn't mean planning for nuclear war, and should be an important consideration for all business owners.
