Liverpool closure will have limited impact

Changes to the way the United Kingdom's coastguard system works won't make much difference to the Isle of Man, according to the director of harbours.

Captain Mike Brew says the UK has largely scrapped plans to drastically cut the size of its coastguard service, but is pressing ahead with the closure of Liverpool's station.

The Isle of Man it taking responsibility for incidents within three miles of its shores, and Captain Brew says that means most operations will carry on as usual:
