Chance for candidates to gauge electors' mood

The man behind a survey about political issues in the Isle of Man is hoping would-be MHKs take heed of the results.

The study is already under way, and Professor Hugh Davidson says more than 1,000 local people will have been interviewed over the phone by HPI Research by the time it has finished.

The survey, called Manx People Power, aims to find the issues which are most important to the electorate in the run-up to September's polls.

On Manx Radio's Sunday Opinion, Professor Davidson said he hoped candidates would listen to the findings, due out in August, to gauge the mood of voters:
