Cancer treatment survey commissioned

by isleofman.com 16th July 2011

Cancer patients are being given a chance to help improve services in the Isle of Man.

The Department of Health is carrying out a survey to find out more about their experiences.

A cross-section of people who have received treatment for the disease are receiving a questionnaire by post. It will explore aspects of their time as patients at Noble's Hospital.

A random sample of around 340 patients is being selected, from those who received treatment between May 2010 and April 2011.

Participation in the study is entirely voluntary and it's hoped results and an action plan will be available for publication early next year.

The survey is being carried out by Quality Health, which has undertaken similar work in the United Kingdom.
