Bio-Blitz planned for Aug 26

by isleofman.com 16th July 2011

A pioneering project in the west is hoping to find as many species of plants, fungi, mammals and fish as it can in an intensive exploration.

The Department of Food and Agriculture, the western group of the Manx Wildlife Trust and Colas have teamed up to create what’s being called a 'Bio-Blitz'.

The one-day operation will see volunteers cataloguing the bio-diversity and wildlife near the River Neb in just one day on August 26.

Liz Charter of the Manx Wildlife Trust says there’ll be plenty to do.
