Passports need to be up to date!

by isleofman.com 16th July 2011

Isle of Man residents planning to travel abroad this summer are being given their annual reminder about passports.

With the end of the academic year a little over a week away, and thoughts turning to trips abroad, the Passport and Immigration Office says everybody should take time to check renewal dates, before buying any tickets.

The waiting time for a new passport is currently around six weeks, which means a form filled in now wouldn't be processed until around the end of August!

However, special services are available - with an extra charge - for renewal in five working days, or a single day!

All passport holders are advised to have at least six months remaining before the expiry date, as any less can sometimes cause difficulties when travelling.
