First challenger in Malew and Santon

by isleofman.com 15th July 2011

There's going to be a contest in Malew and Santon in September's general election.

John Hanson, of Main Road in Santon, has declared his intention to stand in the constituency.

He's the first to person challenge sitting member Graham Cregeen, who has held the seat for the past five years.

The 54-year-old is married with four children and has lived in the Isle of Man for over 40 years, during which time he has run a small licensed tourist establishment.

If elected he says he would encourage government to examine the need for all future major capital expenditure programs, and campaign for leaner, fitter government departments.
