Former deputy chief constable dies

A leading figure in the history of the Isle of Man Constabulary has died at the age of 84.

Alan Killip spent more than 40 years in the force, including a spell as deputy chief constable.

He retired in 1985.

Mr Killip was also a founder and chairman for many years of the annual St Mark's Fair, which is due to take place tomorrow afternoon (Saturday).

A service celebrating his life will be held at Pulrose Methodist Church next Thursday, July 21, at 12.45pm.
