Tynwald declines to debate CinemaNX

An attempt to have Tynwald's Public Accounts Committee look into the Isle of Man's film industry fell at the first hurdle yesterday (Thursday).

Onchan MHK Peter Karran's motion asking for an investigation into CinemaNX, its accounts and operations failed to get a seconder and so wasn't discussed by the court.

In the chamber, Mr Karran repeated his earlier attacks on the industry, questioning its benefits:
