by isleofman.com 14th July 2011

A RIDER, a marshal and a spectator were injured following an incident at last night's Southern 100 Races.

The racing was abandoned following the incident, near the Billown Dip, which involved riders Dave Taylor and Dan Sayle.

Dan Sayle was reported as unhurt but Dave Taylor was taken to Noble's Hospital with fractures.

A flag marshal received leg fractures in the same incident and a spectator was taken to hospital with an eye injury.

A spokesperson for the Southern 100 said the racing was abandoned due to the state of the road after the accident and to allow the police to carry out a full investigation.
