MLC not deterred by criticism of bill

A member of the Legislative Council says he will push ahead with new laws to have MLCs elected by the public, despite a challenge from Chief Minister Tony Brown.

Yesterday (Wednesday) in Tynwald, David Callister slammed the government for bringing too many new laws forward.

But Mr Brown said if that was the case he should drop his private member's bill and stand as an MHK in September's election.

Mr Callister says that was missing the point:
