ONE of the largest cruise vessels to ever visit the Isle of Man anchored in Douglas Bay yesterday (Tuesday).
The MS Marina, owned and operated by Oceania Cruises, made its inaugural call to the Island but will be returning again on July 24.
The Marina made its debut in April of this year and has been described by Oceania Cruises as "beautiful, elegant and sophisticated".
It carries up to 1,250 passengers and 800 crew and has 15 decks. Onboard there is 10 different dining venues, a Bon Appétit Culinary Centre – the only hands on cooking school at sea – and an artists loft.
Yesterday morning tenders brought passengers onto dry land where they were then able to choose from a number of excursions including trips to Castletown, Milntown and to Snaefell.
Next week on Sunday, July 17, the MS Adonia, part of the P&O fleet, will make its inaugural call to the Island. The 30,277 ton ship was named by Dame Shirley Bassey in May.
