Ten more social workers and support staff are to be employed by the Department of Social Care at a cost of nearly half a million pounds.
Tynwald last night (Tuesday) voted to spend ?498,000 to help look after the Isle of Man's most vulnerable young people.
The move, which also covers additional training and more investment in IT, was approved with an amendment from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson, which called for more financial accountability within the department.
East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw, one of two members to vote against the proposals, is insisting the wrong approach is being taken.
