LOCAL charity Crossroads Caring for Carers is preparing to open a charity shop with a difference at Number 2, Prospect Terrace.
Home Interiors and Baby World will be the charity's fourth shop and will sell furniture and baby equipment.
Items for sale will include cushions, curtains, vases, pictures and baby items. Paintings and craft items will be sold on a commission basis and members of the public will also be able to leave donations.
Since opening the first Crossroads charity shop on Prospect Terrace in 2008 Crossroads has expanded to open a further two shops on Victoria Street and with each new shop opening Crossroads has enjoyed increased footfall and sales.
Karen Thomson, the business manager for Crossroads, said: "Crossroads are asking the public to choose to reuse.
"Since opening our first shop we have enjoyed constant support from the public by donations of goods, donations of time and purchasing the goods and we hope to see this continue."
All items sold in the shops help Crossroads to provide more services to those on the Isle of Man with care needs, giving their carers a well deserved break.
The money generated from donations and purchases from Crossroads Home Interiors and Baby World will go towards providing respite care breaks for the Islands' family and informal carers and supportive services for people with care needs.
This year Crossroads have provided over 100,000 hours of care. Much of the money needed to facilitate this comes from the public support of the charity shops.
Crossroads Home Interiors and Baby World will open to the public on Friday, July 29. The shop will then be open between Monday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
