More than 800 people unemployed in the Isle of Man

THE unemployment rate in the Isle of Man rose by two per cent last month.

 

Figures released today show that there were 846 people who were out of work in June. This was 40 more than in May.

 

Of the total unemployed 604 were male and 242 were female.

 

A total of 543 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month. At the end of June 272 positions were still vacant and held on file.
