by isleofman.com 12th July 2011

FIRE crews from Douglas responded to five calls for assistance on Sunday after flash flooding in Douglas and Onchan.

From 12pm onwards three pumping appliances attended the properties to help with local flooding.

Crews used major and light hand pumps, hand appliances and Gully Suckers from the Department of Infrastructure to prevent water from entering the domestic properties.

The extreme weather did not affect the whole Island with Peel, Port Erin and Port St Mary and Castletown enjoying sunshine.
