Campaigners for more legislation to deal with sex offenders in the Isle of Man will hand over a petition before the start of the July sitting of Tynwald this morning (Tuesday).
The document, containing around three and a half thousand names, will be received by Home Affairs Minister Adrian Earnshaw, and calls for 'Sarah's Law' to be introduced on the Island.
It will be presented to Mr Earnshaw by North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson, who is backing the women behind the initiative.
Mr Henderson says he aims to help them show the strength of public support for the new legislation, which he sees as an additional safety measure to protect local children.
'Sarah's Law' was named after nine-year-old Sarah Payne, who was abducted and murdered in Sussex, in the summer of two thousand.
Mr Henderson says Mr Earnshaw's department is reluctant to bring in the laws because personal details of sex offenders would become public knowledge.
