ATHOL Street in Douglas will remain closed until lunchtime at the earliest.

Shaws Brow car park and the lanes which lead onto Athol Street will also remain closed following what police are calling a "serious incident" in Douglas this morning.

A 22 year old Douglas man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was found with serious injuries on Athol Street at around 7.15am this morning. He is currently in Noble's Hospital.

At this time the only access to Athol Street is between 38 and 42 (Appleby) and up to 29 via the back lanes.
