Southern villagers welcome visitors to gardens

by isleofman.com 9th July 2011

Some of the finest gardens in Colby are open to the public this weekend.

They can be visited from 10.30am to 5pm today (Saturday) and from 1.30pm to 5pm tomorrow, and can be enjoyed as a walking tour.

It's the latest in a series of fund-raising initiatives by Colby Methodist Church, which is carrying out an ambitious programme of redevelopment of the church and hall.

Gina Hickson is one of the locals who will be welcoming visitors this weekend.

She has an edible garden which reminds her of her home country (listen to audio file below):

Programmes are available from the Spar shop in Colby, Quine's in Port Erin, Calverts the Newsagents in Port St Mary and Shampers next to Shoprite in Castletown.
