Strand Shopping Centre gets a clock for the first time in 20 years

by isleofman.com 7th July 2011

THE Strand Shopping Centre will get a clock for the first time in its 20 year history.

A competition to design a clock fit for the shopping centre was won by Ballakermeen High School student Nicole Wood.

Nicole, 15, entered the competition with a design that reflected a retail theme. Her design is made up of three shopping bags which feature a heart motif to indicate a love of shopping and the Three Legs of Man symbol.

The clock was built by Paul Carr, the head of design technology at Ballakermeen High School, and will be on display in the very near future.
