THE line up for the fourth annual GuitarFest organised by JonnoPromotions has been revealed.
The festival, supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council, takes place from Friday, August 26 to Sunday, August 28 this year.
There will be three ticketed gigs - on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings - four ticketed workshops plus the free Peter Norris Music local stage featuring Island musicians.
All the gigs take place at the Promenade Suite in the Villa Marina, Douglas, while the workshops will be held at Peter Norris Music in Finch Road, Douglas.
Friday, August 26 sees the 'return of the acoustic troubadors' Jon Gomm and Angelo Palladino.
Jon's local popularity has grown over a number of gigs in the Island since his first visit in November 2006 and this will be Angelo's third visit - his first since performing at Guitarfest II in 2009.
Saturday, August 27 will be "Classical Guitar Classics". This night features Craig Ogden who recently reached number one on the classical charts with his CD Summertime (it is number two at the moment).
He will be performing alongside Gary Ryan. The two of them used to run guitarists' retreats in the Island in conjunction with the Erin Arts Centre in Port Erin.
They will be performing a series of solos and duets - including classic guitar pieces and a number of their own compositions.
Gary played a headline show at GuitarFest II in 2009 and also at Ramsey Music Society in January this year.
This will mark Craig's first performance in the Island since 2005.
The Sunday night will be "Australian night" featuring brilliant singer-songwriters and guitarists Jeff Lang and Derrin Nauendorf.
Jeff is a double ARIA award winning artist (An ARIA is the equivalent of winning a BRIT) and last played in the Island at Peel Centenary Centre in May 2009 having debuted in the Promenade Suite in August 2008.
Derrin played at the 2007 Big Wheel Blues Festival then for JonnoPromotions at the Peel Centenary Centre in March 2008. He then supported The Gathering - Legends of Folk Rock, at the Gaiety Theatre in June 2009.
There will also be 'pre-show' performances by local musicians.
Tickets for the three concerts are £18 each. There is an offer to buy six tickets for the price of five (reducing the ticket price to £15 each).
Also there are 50 festival tickets available at £36 each which cover all three concerts. The six for five offer also applies to the festival ticket.
