An historic hotel in the Hebrides belonging to a group of investors, headed by Isle of Man-based businessman Graham Ferguson Lacey, has been sold.
Mr Ferguson Lacey, with two partners, bought the Machrie Hotel on Islay in 2004, but in January it was forced to close with the loss of 15 of its 18 staff.
Now, BBC chairman Gavyn Davies and his wife, Baroness Sue Nye, a close adviser to former prime minister Gordon Brown, have bought the 120-year-old hotel and golf links.
The new owners have said they intend to renovate the buildings.
