Cav out to prove a point

by isleofman.com 6th July 2011

Mark Cavendish has promised to make amends for a frustrating start to the Tour de France.

He's hunting for his first stage win on today's 164.5 km run from Carhaix to Cap Frehel in the Breton peninsula.

Yesterday's stage was won by Cadel Evans of the BMC team.

Mark Cavendish and the HTC Highroad team failed to figure in the final race for the line.

The stage didn't favour the Manx missile with a sharp climb to the finish at Mur-de-Bretagne.

Earlier in the week he was docked sprint points for a incident in which Thor Hushovd appeared to ride into him.

Hushovd claimed full responsibilty but the penalty was applied to both riders.
