Bypass petition presented at St John's

Residents of a Peel estate battling over plans for a bypass around the town have taken their fight to Tynwald.

Local commissioner Neil Cushing handed over a petition for redress of grievance during the annual open air sitting at St John's today (Tuesday).

He says after fellow board members failed to support a motion looking into the proposals, he was left with little option but to seek help elsewhere.

Mr Cushing says the issue is a contentious one within the town:
