by isleofman.com 5th July 2011

The new Manx National Heritage digital research facility - the iMuseum, in Kingswood Grove, Douglas - has been officially declared open.

The ceremony was performed by Chief Minister Tony Brown and MNH chairman Martin Moore.

The iMuseum contains over 150 years of knowledge from the Manx national collections, and offers users the ability to browse the national archives.

Material available includes newspapers from 1792 to 1960, photographs of the Island, and film and audio resources, including some of the great Manx speakers from years gone by.

Also present at the ceremony yesterday (Monday) were members of the crew from the space shuttle Discovery, who presented MNH with a Manx pennant and flag which were flown on their final mission, in February this year.
