The Isle of Man is celebrating its national day at St John's today (Tuesday).
The Manx parliament has it annual open air sitting, at which a dozen new laws are being promulgated.
It's Noel Cringle's final Tynwald Day as president and Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood's first national day, after he was sworn in as Queen Elizabeth II's representative on the Island in April.
Special guests include members of the crew of the space shuttle Discovery.
The ceremonial occasion begins at 9.45am when the guard of honour, military band, standard bearers and school students process towards Tynwald Hill.
His Excellency will arrive around 45 minutes later, just in time for a flypast of RAF aircraft.
Among the new Acts which will be promulgated before the crowds are laws governing endangered species, gambling supervision, income tax and civil partnerships.
During the ceremony local residents will exercise their ancient right to submit petitions for redress of grievance to the court.
There will be live coverage on Manx Radio throughout the day.
