Nunnery plays host to homecomers' service

by isleofman.com 4th July 2011

A week of events to mark the centenary of the World Manx Association has continued with the annual homecomers' service.

The Nunnery was the setting for the gathering of locals and 'Manxies' from around the world.

Led by John Kennaugh, with music from the choir, Encore, and Crosby Silver Band, the service was attended by outgoing president of Tynwald Noel Cringle and his wife Mary.

President of the World Manx Association Peter Kelly says the event helps people keep in touch with the Island (listen to audio file below):

The association's celebrations continue throughout the week, and include a centenary concert in the Promenade Suite at the Villa Marina, at 7.30pm on Wednesday.
