Pownall would 'put Castletown first'

by isleofman.com 4th July 2011

A challenger in September's general election says taking on the top job in the Manx government can lead politicians to neglect their constituency duties.

David Pownall, who is standing in Castletown, believes that has happened in the ancient capital, where the current MHK is also the chief minister.

Mr Pownall says there is much urban decay around the constituency and is vowing to put the town first if he is elected (listen to audio file below):

David Pownall is one of three candidates who have declared in Castletown so far, the others being Carol Quine and Richard Ronan.
