Successful Manx squad to bid games farewell

A tired but elated Manx squad have been praised for representing the Island on the world stage.

The team finished the Special Olympics in Athens with six gold, nine silver and nine bronze medals.

The success was rounded off over the weekend with a 4-1 victory over Malta in the football final and gold in the 4x100 metres relay.

The Isle of Man squad will be involved in this evening’s closing ceremony and are due to arrive back in the Island on Tuesday night.
