Boot says he is 'a different kind of politician'

by isleofman.com 4th July 2011

A general election candidate with business and political interests in the United Kingdom is telling voters in Glenfaba he will spend virtually all his time in the Isle of Man if he gets their backing on September 29.

Geoffrey Boot, who has homes in the UK and St John's, and is chairman of a local authority in Kent, says he would end his involvement with most of the 26 boards and committees to which he is currently committed, if he became a member of the House of Keys.

He says they all know his heart is in Manx politics, and they are all on notice.

Mr Boot, who unsuccessfully contested Glenfaba in the 2006 general election, believes he offers the electorate a different kind of politician (listen to audio file below):

The other candidate in Glenfaba so far is sitting member David Anderson.
