Be true to yourself, says former Chief Minister

Adaptability and a willingness to best serve the Island – two of the key characteristics a former Chief Minister says are vital for would-be politicians.

With just 13 weeks to go until September’s General Election, Donald Gelling has been reflecting on his 21 years in Tynwald as an MHK and MLC, including two spells as the Island's Chief Minister.

He says politicians must always be true to themselves for the benefit of the Isle of Man.
