Nearly ?3 million is going to spent on more improvements for a Ballasalla estate if Tynwald gives the go-ahead this month.
Some of the properties on the Clagh Vane estate date back to the 1940s and these will be replaced with modern apartments and bungalows.
Also included will be a new access road, car parking and a communal biomass boiler house which will use locally sourced wood chip fuel.
There's already been 16 two bedroom apartments and one two-bed bungalow built at Clagh Vane, and it's thought this phase will be finished by November 2012.
Social Care Minister Martyn Quayle acknowledges that financially we're in tough times - but this project has already been included in the capital programme and so the money is already earmarked for the redevelopment.
He firmly believes it's the right time to spend it.
