A visiting motorcyclist from Liverpool, who was involved in a crash with a truck, died from multiple injuries, the result of massive blunt force trauma.
Kevin Michael Madigan's Suzuki collided with a Department of Infrastructure gulley cleaning wagon at around 3.45pm in Bemahague Road, Douglas, on June 13.
A post mortem showed the 40 year-old electrician's heart stopped when he was thrown through the truck windscreen.
A pillion passenger on Mr Madigan's bike at the time of the accident was injured and taken to Noble's Hospital for treatment.
The crew of the wagon suffered only minor injuries.
The inquest was adjourned by Coroner Alistair Mongomerie because of ongoing investigations.
