by isleofman.com 30th June 2011

ALAN Carr has been confirmed to play at the Villa Marina as part of his first UK tour in over four years.

The popular British comedian will play the Royal Hall on Friday, August 5, as part of a warm up show ahead of his 33 date arena tour.

Alan last visited the Isle of Man in 2007 for a performance at the Gaiety Theatre. Since then he has had his own show commissioned by Channel 4 – Alan Carr: Chatty Man - and published his autobiography Look Who It Is.

Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK said: "I am delighted to confirm another major star will be performing at the Villa Marina in what is quickly becoming the best summer of entertainment the Island has seen in a long time.

"As well as getting to see Alan Carr live at the Villa Marina this is a great opportunity to enjoy Alan's new material before anyone else in the UK."

Tickets are on sale now priced at £27.50. These can be bought from the Welcome Centre in the Sea Terminal in Douglas, online at www.villagaiety.com or through the ticket hotline on 01624 600555.
