A TEAM of four junior riders from Team Microgaming Isle of Man will compete in this weekend’s British Junior Road Race Championships.

Jack Wolstencroft, Alex Haddock, Jonathan Cregeen and Thomas Mazzone will ride at the event in County Durham on Sunday.

86 riders will compete in the 88 mile race which is based around Barnard Castle – taking in three laps of a hilly 27km circuit before switching to a 13km finishing loop.

Riders from the Isle of Man have had a good record riding in the British Junior Road Race. Chris Nicholson won bronze last year and Tim Kennaugh narrowly missed taking the title in 2009.

Peter Kennaugh won the title in 2007 and the bronze medal in 2006 and Mark Cavendish won silver in 2003.
